Part 2 of this text covered basic design and analysis of experiments with formulations. Components could vary from 0 to 100% of the blend. In Part 3, which begins with this chapter, we discuss how to address the common situation where there are constraints on the levels of the components. At first one might be concerned about the added complexity created by the constraints, but component constraints are a reality.
