Similar to the Web publishing example (see Chapter 12, “Web Content Publishing”), the basic strategy for this project is to author the primary document in XML, then transform it to produce the final, human-readable product. Figure 18.1 shows the flow of the system, from the human authors and designers to the finished documents.

  • Convert the hard-copy manual into an XML document.
  • Develop the stylesheets (XSLT and/or CSS) to display the manual on the Web.
