Requirements

This system must meet the following requirements:

  • The resulting system must be secure, allowing only pre-approved partners to submit orders.

  • The system must be available over the public Internet, without requiring any special VPN or dedicated leased lines.

  • The system should run on the existing public IIS servers.

  • The system should merge seamlessly with the existing Web-based order processing system.

  • The published API should be simple enough that partners will be able to implement it quickly within their own systems.

  • The system will initially allow new orders to be submitted, containing the following information:

    • Customer name

    • Credit-card number

    • E-mail source address

    • E-mail date

    • List of item part numbers and quantities
