Conclusion

The order processing system presented in this chapter is very primitive, but before XML tools were available it would have taken much longer to implement. There are still several issues that would need to be addressed in a real production system (such as message authentication/ encryption, more sophisticated order entry processes, and catalog updates), but this sample system does illustrate how much value an XML library (such as JDOM) can add to a project.
