Implementation Roles and Responsibilities

Now that we have set the stage for effective implementation, it’s time to define roles and accountabilities. Ongoing roles and accountabilities are described in detail in Chapter 16; these paragraphs focus on the roles and accountabilities associated with the initial implementation of your strategic staffing/workforce planning process.

The responsibility for developing and implementing staffing strategies and plans lies with those who define the amount and type of resources that will be needed to implement business strategies and then allocate those resources once they become available. In most companies, line managers play this role.
