Step 2b: Create a Detailed Staffing Model

Using the approach described in Figure 5-4 as your road map, you will now need to develop a detailed staffing model for your critical staffing issue that will calculate specific staffing gaps and surpluses and help you define the staffing actions that best eliminate those gaps and surpluses. A separate model will be needed for each staffing issue that you will focus on. Again, Chapter 9 includes a worked-out example of this process. Here are the steps in the process.
