This is a short chapter designed to lay out the essence of our approach. It starts with a story about someone who achieved extraordinary career success:

His name was Steve. Early in his career, Steve knew that he could use some help. He was confident that his fledgling company had something to offer the world, but he needed capital to start manufacturing. One venture capitalist told Steve that he also needed to learn how to market and sell. Steve listened and sought suggestions. He met with entrepreneurial backers and start-up experts and hit it off with Mike, who taught him how to write a business plan. Mike eventually became an angel investor and an absolutely vital contributor to the company.
