HIRING SMART MINDS

Some people are more open to change than others. This depends on the balance of power between our basic and higher needs. Those in pursuit of learning and self-fulfilment, while suppressing more basic instincts, are more likely to welcome change. This is partly a function of age. As we develop as human beings, in our early years, much of our effort is directed at satisfying needs for security, belonging and esteem. It is only later in life that self-actualization becomes more important. But this is also a function of our environment; it is hard for human beings to mature in this way if they have lived a life of extreme deprivation. Instead they find themselves locked into a lower level of emotional development.
