TEAM REWARDS AND RECOGNITION

Although we wanted to encourage innovation from everywhere and everyone in the form of individual initiative, we did not necessarily want to begin to create a culture of individual heroes. We recognized that it was important for us to avoid the tendency to make rewards and recognition focused only on the individual level.

Instead, we sought equally to foster a team approach to innovation. We knew a lot about the methodologies for rewarding and recognizing team behavior as opposed to individual heroics from our prior work on project management and product development teams.
