WHAT WE LEARNED

There is ample literature about how to build and deploy the technical part of a KM system (for example, how to collect data, map the knowledge, and build a usable, accessible system). However, you will seldom find information explaining the real-life unexpected turns that invariably happen in building such a site. Here is what we learned that we wished we knew going in:

  • People will take action when given the basic truth. People will act to create and deploy the system long before the technical requirements are set.
