  • Senior leaders must share enterprise-wide accountability for embedment as well as be individually accountable for embedment in their own functional or regional areas.
  • You need to be almost too explicit in laying out accountabilities for leaders at all levels around embedment.
  • Senior leaders need accountabilities laid out and access to development experience just as much as mid- and lower-level leaders do.
  • You cannot assume that mid- and lower-level leaders will have less readiness to learn about and act on embedment than more senior leaders.
  • You need to explicitly describe culture-changing behaviors for all levels of leaders.
