Capturing Customer Revenue Patterns as Events

Many behavior patterns of customer data records can be boiled down to a few simple metrics. However, that isn’t always the case because some behaviors are much more complex. But if you observe the yearly or quarterly revenues from customer purchases, it might be difficult to capture the trends unless a fairly sophisticated forecasting system exists. Fortunately, SAS has such a system. But, if we are just interested in the decline or stagnation of the revenues as opposed to the increase, then perhaps we might not need to capture all of the ups and downs of the revenue patterns.
