Generations X, Y and Z?
Generation X is a term widely used to describe the generation born after the post–World War II baby boom, with birthdates ranging from the early 1960s to the early 1980s. The term was popularized in Douglas Coupland's novel Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture.
Coupland, and others, generally use terms such as individualistic, technologically adept and flexible to describe this group. They then quickly add that this cohort has a preference to “work to live, rather than live to work.”
