Clear Vision and Sensitive Radar

The argument has already been made that what sets the accomplished transformational leaders apart from the rest of us is their ability to gauge the subtle shifts in context and meaning that are the precursors to driving significant change, which allows them to seize emerging opportunities. The leader's ability to accurately assess the context and connect the dots, his or her sense-making or contextual intelligence, is a major part of this competence. It helps the leader create the vivid image of the future that is necessary to galvanize change, overcome inertia and shift an organization onto a new path.
