Mistaken Beliefs and Naïveté
In far too many organizations, the word collaborate means slow down, play nice and consult with as many people as you can. When that is the definition of collaboration, it is almost a given that neither the leader nor the people below actually understand what it looks like, let alone what it means inside the social reality of the modern organization.
