APPLYING ONLINE

These days, more and more funders prefer electronic submissions. Although online submissions often are formatted with a series of questions that must be answered in a limited amount of space, I maintain that you can still use the storytelling approach I present in this book. Within the confines of these “boxed answers,” you can still tell your story in a creative and engaging fashion. Online applications ask for information about your agency’s history and mission, the need or problem being addressed, the intended outcomes, the program plan and description, your plan for evaluation and future funding—the same elements you must cover in a written proposal.
