Last summer we took our family on a vacation to Italy to celebrate two family milestones that occurred simultaneously—our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and our oldest child’s graduation from high school. This trip with our children was particularly fun since Lee’s father grew up in Italy (Colan is short for Colantuono). One of the highlights was seeing the glassblowing artists on Murano Island near Venice. We watched in amazement as they transformed globs of molten glass into beautifully detailed sculptures that would later become pieces of an awe-inspiring chandelier—all in just 30 seconds!
