Boss as Banker and Broker

There is no question that there is a place for bosses, just not so many of them and not operating as before. The task, then, is to define the unique value added by the position. When we say that the employee and bosses are partners, we look for what the boss has to offer. Banker is one answer. The boss secures funds for the unit operation and, like any banker, communicates the results and requirements for continued financial support. You can think of bosses as brokers for their employees.
