CHAPTER 14Testing for Statistically Significant Change Using Nonnormal Distributions

What we will learn in this chapter is that many distributions are nonnormal and that these distributions occur in many places, but that we can use the formulas and tables we have already reviewed to get meaningful information on any changes in the processes that generated these distributions. We often do Six Sigma work on nonnormal processes.

APPLICATIONS: Nonnormal Distributions

Manufacturing. Any process that has a zero at one end of the data is likely to have a skewed distribution. An example would be data representing distortion of a product.
