2.3. WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED IN CHAPTER 2

  1. The DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) is the process roadmap Six Sigma green belts use to solve problems.

  2. The Six Sigma tools are used in different steps in the DMAIC process. The project or problem dictates which tools are used and where in the DMAIC process.

  3. The DMAIC process not only is useful as a problem-solving guide, but also can be used as a standardized format for project reviews. A Six Sigma tool check-off list is an effective way to make sure applicable tools are identified and used. An example of a Six Sigma tool check-off list is shown in Appendix B.
