Chapter 12. Testing for Statistically Significant Change Using Variables Data
What you will learn in this chapter is how to use limited samples of variables (measurable) data to make judgments on whether a population or process has changed. We will be comparing samples with the population and samples with other samples. We first want to determine the minimum sample size required. This is very important, because taking too small a sample can cause invalid estimates, but excessive samples are costly. This chapter is used for the Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve, and Control steps in the DMAIC process.
