To illustrate how to produce and S-charts, refer to the data of Figure 11.14 on page 303 concerning cycle times. Open the CYCLETIME2.JMP data table.

1. Select Graph → Control Chart → XBar. In the XBar Control Chart dialog box (see Figure A11.16), select the XBar and S check boxes. Enter Cycle Time in the Process edit box. Enter Time in the Sample Label edit box. Select the KSigma options button and enter 3 in the edit box. Select the Sample Size Constant option button. Enter 10 in the edit box. Click the OK button.
