In Section 9.5, you used residual analysis to evaluate the appropriateness of using the simple linear regression model for a set of data. For the multiple regression model with two independent variables, you need to construct and analyze the following residual plots:

  1. Residuals versus the predicted value of Y

  2. Residuals versus the first independent variable X1

  3. Residuals versus the second independent variable X2

  4. Residuals versus time (if the data has been collected in time order)
