Summary

In this chapter, the concept of the sampling distribution of a statistic served as the foundation for developing confidence interval estimates of the mean and the proportion. The assumption of each confidence interval was stated, and methods for evaluating the validity of the assumption were shown. In addition, the distinction was made between the confidence interval and the prediction interval.
