Summary

This chapter covered the basic concepts of probability. First, some rules of probability were discussed, followed by the development and definition of the probability distribution. Next, the binomial, Poisson, and normal distributions were emphasized, along with how to compute probabilities for each of these distributions. Finally, the normal probability plot was introduced as a tool for evaluating whether a set of data approximately follows a normal distribution.
