Appendix 4.2 Using JMP for Descriptive Statistics
Generating Descriptive Statistics and a Box-and-Whisker Plot
To compute descriptive statistics and produce a histogram and a box-and-whisker plot, open the 
ORDER.JMP data table. Select Analyze → Distribution. Then do the following:
Select Time. Click the Y, Columns button. Click the OK button. You will get a vertical histogram, a vertical outlier box-and-whisker plot, and descriptive statistics.
Click the red triangle next to the Time variable. Select Display Options → Horizontal Layout to reorganize the output horizontally. Click Display Options → More Moments to compute additional statistics. ...
