Chapter 10. Digital Integrated Circuits I
Digital integrated circuits have internal transistors operating in digital or switching mode. The terminology of logic 0 and logic 1 states is introduced. Various logic circuits are described: the inverter or NOT gate, the OR gate, the AND gate, the NOR gate, and the NAND gate. Their inputs and outputs are shown in truth tables. Eventually, the converting of one type of logic gate to another, and the combination of logic gates is shown to be the basis of all modern digital circuits. Boolean mathematics and equations are used to describe the gates and their operation.
