A word on ‘red tape’ and other excuses for business problems

As you’re working on starting your business you’ll read about the problems of government ‘red tape’ in the press. You’ll hear people make speeches against it, and you’ll see campaigns against it. These people say that ‘red tape’ (rules and regulations set by government) is causing huge problems for entrepreneurs in the UK.

My view on that has been reworded by my editor to be suitable for print, and now reads ‘rubbish’. If you speak to any real, successful entrepreneur you’ll find they’ve got more important things to focus on.
