Shared Experiences

Jonathan Elvidge still clearly remembers opening the doors of the very first Gadget Shop in 1991:

‘Quarter of an hour before we opened, when a huge queue of people had built up outside this big new shopping centre we were part of, one of the shop staff I’d hired mentioned the word “float”, and that you need some money in the till to give change to people. I hadn’t thought of this. I’d thought of all sorts of intricate detail but I hadn’t thought of something so simple, so I had to run out of the shopping centre to the bank, and got back to the shop just in time to give change to our very first customer.’
