Whatever your type of business, it’s well worth spending some time preparing to get publicity for your launch in your local or trade media. Often something as simple as a personal letter to the editor or a journalist can get you some coverage if your story is interesting enough. You have to think what will interest other people – the general public – about your business. You may also be able to link it to something else that’s currently in the news – local news organisations love being able to get a local angle on a national story.

  • Something unusual and, even better, amusing.
