Liz Jackson set up Great Guns Marketing, a telephone marketing agency which has grown very rapidly:
‘The bank wouldn’t lend me any money so I went to the Prince’s Youth Trust and did a business plan for those guys and they gave me a grant for £1,000 and a loan of £4,000 – so that gave me some money to actually buy some second-hand furniture, second-hand fax machine, second-hand computer, phone etc. One of the biggest challenges was actually getting the money and then being able to convince people that I could do something.’
