Week Twelve: Branding

This week you’ll develop the vision and values of your business, as part of beginning to develop the name and image of the company.

Many people think that branding is just designing a pretty logo – but in reality that’s only the result of the branding work. Before that you need to know what your company is for, as well as the principles it stands for. These are generally known as the vision and values.

The terms vision and values seem a bit naff because too many large companies trot out big posters with all sorts of rubbish on them, and then never actually run the business in that way. Stuff like ‘We believe people are our greatest asset’, followed by a massive round of redundancies.
