Comparing your businesses

Now compare your plans for your business with the way your competitors do business:

  • What are the similarities and differences between your products or services?
  • Where are you positioned in terms of pricing? (Lowest is not necessarily best, but if you’re high in the marketplace you have to justify this in terms of quality, convenience or love.)
  • How professional will you seem in comparison?
  • Why would customers buy from you instead of them?
  • Why might customers buy from them instead of you?

Write up everything you’ve learned this week about your competitors for your business plan.
