Refining or rejecting your idea

You’ve learned some really valuable things in a few simple experiments. So now’s the time to fold those insights back into the original idea and improve it.

When considering how to refine your idea or whether to reject it, you need to bear in mind that:

  • Feedback about one thing may be a symptom of another. For example, if people say ‘it’s too expensive’ that doesn’t necessarily mean the right response is to change the price. Maybe you need to improve how you explain the benefits and the value of your offer.
  • Are you getting the feedback from the right people? If your target market is busy executives, feedback from friends who are students won’t have much weight.
