Start at the End is the culmination of years of work and experience building my own companies and helping thousands of entrepreneurs and business owners achieve success. I couldn’t have done that or written this book without the help of many others.

To start, I’d like to thank my beautiful wife, Kristy, and my kids, Max and Isabella. They are my true why. The reason I work so hard to achieve success as an entrepreneur and to help others is so that I can have the freedom to spend as much time as possible with them and travel wherever we want to go. I love each of you more than you’ll ever know, and every day, you inspire me to better myself. I’d also like to thank our dog, Hazel, solely because my kids would be upset if I didn’t.

Major kudos goes out to Jay Turo, my cofounder at Growthink. I couldn’t ask for a better cofounder. In addition to being a brilliant businessman, Jay is one of the most caring and ethical people I’ve ever met. Jay and I worked on our first business plan together while earning our MBAs at UCLA in 1997, and since then Jay has been responsible for managing Growthink’s consulting practice, constantly thinking about and improving how business owners can create and use business plans to achieve more success. Thanks to Jay’s wife, Shelmin, and kids, Jay Jay and Teddy, for their hospitality when I make trips to Growthink’s Los Angeles office.
