Inserting a Formula
While Calc is certainly no stranger to formulas, there may be a situation where you want to insert a nonworking formula into a sheet for explanatory purposes. For example, you may be doing some calculations involving the speed of light and you would like to place the theoretical formula (using the Greek alphabet) in an object box near the “real” formula that you have placed in the spreadsheet. Inserting formulas as objects makes them the same as graphic images: They are only there to enlighten or add some visual impact to the spreadsheet.
To Insert a Formula

Place the cursor in the location where you want the object to be inserted in your document.

2. | Choose Insert, point at Object, then choose Formula to open the Commands ... |
