Inserting an Applet

Applets are typically associated with Web pages and are contained in files that are in the HTML file format. Java applets are used widely on the Web to provide interactive items such as animations or games. Since StarOffice is enabled for Java applets, you can actually place an applet in a regular Calc spreadsheet. This means that you are placing a mini-application right in the spreadsheet.

For example, you may want to place a Java-based calculator applet in a spreadsheet. This allows you to actually use the calculator while you are inserting values and other data into the spreadsheet.
