Inserting an OLE Object

You can insert an OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) object when you want to link or embed a target object into a spreadsheet. OLE objects originate in other applications and are edited in their parent application when you activate them in your Calc spreadsheet.

An OLE object can be inserted from an existing file, or you can create one on the fly by selecting a particular application as the parent application for the OLE object. When you insert an OLE object in a spreadsheet, you are basically placing the functionality of another application into Calc.

To Insert a New OLE Object

1.
Click in the cell where you wish to place the OLE object.

Choose Insert, Object, then choose OLE Object to open the Insert OLE Object ...
