Sorting Data

Once you have defined a database range, you are ready to begin manipulating the data in the database by sorting or filtering the data. Let's take a look at sorting first.

You can actually use the Sort and Filter features on any Calc spreadsheet, whether you have defined a database range or not. To create more complex filters, however, you will need to have a defined database range to work with.

You can perform quick sorts on a list or database using the Sort Ascending or Sort Descending tools on Calc's Main toolbar. You can also set up your own sorts using the Sort dialog box (launched via the Data menu).
