Understanding Styles
We took a look at formatting cells and cell ranges in Chapter 3, and you probably noticed that when you applied a large number of formatting attributes to a cell or cells and had to repeat that entire process to format other cells with the same attributes, you were spending a lot of time clicking menus and toolbar buttons. Formatting cells with each individual format option can be time-consuming.
The Style option will negate a lot of the repetition involved in formatting. Styles are collections of font types, colors, and other font and cell attributes (such as borders and backgrounds) that can be saved under a particular name and then quickly recalled to format cells and cell ranges.
