Using AutoFormat

An excellent way to quickly add formatting to a spreadsheet is AutoFormat. It allows you to emphasize certain areas of the spreadsheet and dress them up with color and shading without having to determine your own overall formatting strategy for the spreadsheet.

To Use AutoFormat

1.
Select the cell range (typically your whole spreadsheet) that you wish to format.
2.
Select the Format menu, and then select AutoFormat. The AutoFormat dialog box appears (see Figure 3.16).
