Working with the Beamer

A Desktop tool that pretty much works hand in hand with the Explorer is the Beamer. The Beamer provides a view of the contents of any drive or folder that is currently selected in the Explorer window. To open the Beamer window, click the View menu, and then select Beamer.

The Beamer can be used to view the contents of the various groups and other containers in the Explorer while you are working in a particular StarOffice application such as Calc. The Beamer is particularly useful in cases where you wish to drag and drop a file such as a graphic from some location on your computer's hard drive into the document that you are currently working on.
