A particle system works by using a large number of images to simulate the particle effects, which will have a good performance with the use of
QuadBatch. We will learn more about
QuadBatch in the next chapter. As each particle in the physical world has some properties depending on its physical composition, the same properties when given to an image can be used to simulate that kind of particle. For example, when simulating water, each particle in the sprite sheet is given all the physical properties of a water droplet such as color, mass, and velocity. Similarly, while rendering an explosion, each particle in a sprite is given the characteristics of a particle in an explosive flame.
