SQL Server gives many options for monitoring and troubleshooting, such as SQL Server Profiler and SQL Trace, Dynamic Management Views and Functions, the default trace, trace flags, performance counters, deadlock graphs, ring buffers, blocked process reports, DBCC commands, various logs, and others.
