This appendix will guide you through the installation of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services. The SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services contains only a subset of full SQL Server edition features, yet it can handle most of the examples that you will find throughout this book. Before installing SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, you should confirm that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. These requirements can be obtained from the Microsoft Web site.[1]
