SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

SQL Server 2005 introduced the new SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). When compared with the Enterprise Manager, which was used in earlier versions of SQL Server, the SSMS interface provides many enhancements. Much like the Enterprise Manager, the vast majority of actions taken in SSMS are really just calls to the database engine using Transact-SQL code. At least two benefits arise from this architecture.
