The website contains all SQL scripts (in ZIP format) used to create and populate the sample database — ACME — used throughout the book. The scripts are RDBMS-specific, and the sequence in which they should be run is described in detail in Appendix F, "Installing the ACME Database." The respective RDBMS installation packages can be downloaded from the Internet using links provided both in the book and on the website.
We also might provide links to some of the relevant sites that we feel could be of use for the reader, including vendors' documentation, third-party tools, and forums dedicated to SQL and relational database technologies.
Note
The links for the respective RDBMS software download will be periodically updated, because they might change. Should the installation process change (because some RDBMSs were not yet released at the time of this writing), the updated process also will be posted on the website.
Additionally, the website provides a feedback opportunity, and an errata page. All constructive remarks and suggestions would be appreciated. All submitted errors and omissions will be evaluated, and posted to the errata page together with our comments and acknowledgements.
