The use of the Activiti tool, Spring Workflow framework, and portlets saves time in implementing process flows that are needed by so many workflow-based systems. The time spent implementing the flows from the baseline affects the project time, specifically with Spring projects. If the application is so general, then the BPMN 2.0 standard of Activiti can be integrated to Spring 4.x, in order to guide the flow of transactions, without affecting the core features of the system.
