ftp (transfer files)

Starts a utility program that transfers files between computers. ftp provides many commands, such as connect, disconnect, get, put, and many others, that initiate actions between the computer running ftp and a remote computer. For instance, the command “put file2.txt” moves the file named file2.txt from the current computer to a remote computer. To see all the possible commands, use the help command in ftp. See man ftp for more information.
