The Color of Light

Light has color. Different types of light have different colors, which can affect the mood and tone of your image. The more red or orange in your image, the warmer the image will feel. The more blue there is in the light, the colder the image will feel. The light given off by a burning candle is very warm compared to the light in the shadows it creates.

Photographers measure the color of light using the Kelvin temperature scale. The lower the temperature, the warmer the light.
